The Medical Office and EHR Specialist Program will provide the skills employers require for many types of medical clerical and patient records administration positions, whether in a doctor’s office, clinic or hospital. It features extensive real world hands-on training using a market-leading Practice Management Software application, eClinicalWorks, now with an integrated *Electronic Health Records (EHR) component. It also includes the latest information on HIPAA and a practical overview of medical office procedures and patient care. The training prepares the student for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) exams which are included in the Program.
All course books and materials are included in the Program. Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED or a T.A.B.E. test with a result of at least 9th Grade Level. Medical Office and EHR Specialist runs 200 clock hours over 40 training days, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m..
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says the Medical Office Assistant is among the fastest growing occupations of this decade with job prospects listed as excellent, particularly for those with formal training.
